Your Cold-Weather Skin Survival Guide
Cold air outside, dry heat inside — winter is a humidity sandwich your skin sits in for months. A few small swaps keep your barrier comfortable until spring.
Swap the foam for cream
Foaming cleansers that feel great in humid weather can leave winter skin tight. A cream or balm cleanser cleans just as well while leaving lipids where they belong.
Layer hydration, then seal it
A hydrating mist or hyaluronic serum on damp skin pulls water in; a ceramide moisturizer on top locks it down. The two-layer trick outperforms any single 'rich' cream.
Ease up on exfoliation
Flakes tempt you to scrub more — resist. Over-exfoliating dry winter skin compounds the problem. Once a week with a gentle PHA blend is plenty until the weather warms.
Don't shelve the SPF
Snow reflects up to 80% of UV back at your face, and UVA doesn't take winters off. Keep the sunscreen habit going year-round.
